Selected Bibliography

Writing the history of an event or a place is just like exploring a great fort on a hilltop. The front view of the fort will be different from the view from the back. The views from left and right will also be different. When we go uphill we will get better views. When we go inside we get diverse views.

Kuravilangad - The Blessed City

The Catholic community at Kuravilangad, and the church here known as Marth Mariam Maha Edavaka (St. Mary’s Forane Church), have a continuous history of twenty centuries. Throughout the history of the St. Thomas Christians of Malabar the people of Kuravilangad had and still have a very unique position.

Kuravilangad church and many other churches here were dedicated to Mary, Mother of God. The bell made in 1584 was for the church at Kuravilangad in the name of Mary, Mother of God. Another part of the inscription extols Kuravilangad as ‘the blessed city’.

Whether you’re celebrating a special weekend or a relaxed gathering with friends, our personable attention to detail will make your visit unique and memorable. Chef Thomas and his team wish you an enjoyable stay and an excellent meal!
